These deer can get big and will get your blood pumping every time you glass one up. Brass Tacks focuses most of their attention to mule deer hunting in Southern and South-Eastern Arizona.

Rifle hunts: Rifle hunts in Arizona are on a draw system. Hunters will be required to purchase a hunting license to apply for this hunt, and the license must be good at the time of draw. If the license will expire prior to the actual hunt, hunter will be required to renew their hunting license.

Archery hunts: Most archery hunts are over the counter hunts. Hunters will be required to purchase a hunting license to obtain a tag, and this license must be valid through the desired hunt dates. The AZGFD has implemented a harvest limit on the amount of deer taken during a season. This harvest limit will determine if a unit is open at the time of hunt.

BEAR HUNTING

Bear hunting is by far one of the most challenging hunts we offer. The terrain is rugged and packing one of these beasts out can test your abilities. Often we get bear hunters that have hunting experience for other animals, but want to venture out into something unfamiliar or provide a new challenge.

Most bear hunting is an over the counter tag in Arizona. AZGFD has a harvest limit on the amount of sows taken in huntable units. Once the harvest limit has been met, that unit will close to all bear hunting.

Javelina is a great species to hunt for first time hunters. The "stink pig" is actually not a pig at all, but it is a peccary. These animals like to stick together and can make for a fun and exciting hunt.

Javelina tags are issued on a draw system. Hunters will be required to purchase a hunting license to apply for this hunt, and the license must be good at the time of draw. If the license will expire prior to the actual hunt, hunter will be required to renew their hunting license.

COYOTE HUNTING

Coyote hunting is a year round hunt that only requires a hunting license to hunt. Most units in Arizona are open to coyote hunting. This is a great hunt to get familiar with the outdoors and hunting regulations. It is also a good hunt because it allows for a more flexible schedule to hunt. 1 day hunts are offered for this hunt.
